Helford plans to hold its own celebrations to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
While Manaccan will be holding its own fancy dress parade, community tea and barbecue on the Bank Holiday Monday, June 4, Helford will be celebrating the previous day, Sunday, June 3.
This will take the form of a ‘big lunch.’ Organisers plan to hold it at the head of the river whilst at low tide, so that vehicles can drive through the ford, to avoid the road having to be closed.
