Fazer set to stun as Falmouth Week gears up to rock

Organisers of Falmouth Week say they are not phased by possible unpleasant weather conditions this year – as all the festivities take place completely undercover.
Fazer (N-Dubz) has been announced as the headline act for Wednesday 15th August, supported by popular Britain’s Got Talent boy band The Mend .
The only event in Cornwall to combine world class Regatta racing with a mammoth line up of evening entertainment for all the family, Falmouth Week’s huge Events Square marquee will soon be standing proud in its iconic harbour-side location, and will become host to some of the best musical talent the industry has to offer from August 10 to 19.
Highlights for this year include the ‘one and only’ Chesney Hawkes who will give party-goers a blast from the past for the 80s Vs 90s extravaganza on Friday 17.
UK 90s garage legend Artful Dodger who will close the party and raise the roof with an exclusive “Nod to the Nineties” set with a live performance from World-renowned UK MC Alister, featuring all the classics: ReRe Wind, Woman Trouble, and Movin To Fast, plus a selection of the biggest dance and garage tracks from the decade.
ABBA fans will be in their element on Tuesday 14th, when the world-famous Bjorn Again will bring the music of the most renowned band in the world to Falmouth for the first time ever – this event will be open to all ages and everyone is invited to wear fancy dress!
New for 2012 is B-Side Communion, which has built a steady following at Bunters Bar in Truro each month, and will bring Josh Kumra, Saturday Sun, Matthew and Me, Emily and the Woods and Kezia to the stage in Falmouth on Saturday11. Somerset’s finest scrumpy-guzzling quartet will make a welcome return for their hog roast and cider night on Sunday 12, as will The Soul Survivors on Monday 13, and South West Ska legends Rudi’s Message on Thursday 16.
This year the Caribbean Night towards the end of the week will feature the smooth grooves of Legend – who bring the life and times of the late great Bob Marley and the music of The Wailers in their charismatic and upbeat show.
Closing this year’s proceedings will be Kernow King and his “mehts” – for a night of fun and entertainment for all the family plus a free Rowe’s pasty for everyone in attendance!
Also new for 2012 is a Bedouin-themed private VIP area which is available for private hire each night – complete with private bar, capacity for up to 150 people and a raised uninterrupted view of the stage.
