Falmouth Week road closures announced

There will be a series of road closures affecting Falmouth during the annual Falmouth Week festivities later this month.
The following information has been issued by town manager Richard Gates in the build up top the event, which begins on Friday, August 10.
The closures are:
*Friday, August 10 : The Pink Wig parade, 6pm to 8pm, from the Moor to Events Sq.The closure of High Street and The Moor to Grove Place will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do.
*Saturday, August 11 : Carnival 6pm to 8pm from the Recreation Ground, down Killigrew St, The Moor, Lower Killigrew, Market St through the town centre finishing at the Watersports Centre (vehicles will still be able to access Grove Place car park but no further). This is the only closure of the year where the roundabout by the rugby club is closed so delays will occur.
*Wednesday, August 15 : 9.30am to 11pm; Market St, Church St & Arwenack St will be closed to traffic during this time. Shops are being asked to ensure all deliveries where possible either don’t come into town on the Wednesday, or arrive early to leave by the closure start time if they are required. Once the road closure is in place we will not be letting any deliveries into the closure.
*Wednesday August 15 : Noon to 9pm; Castle Drive will only be One-Way so that vehicles driving up towards Pendennis Castle or Ships and Castles will need to drive round the point to exit the area.
*Wednesday, August 15 : From noon, Flushing will only be open to residents during the afternoon and until after the Blades Aerobatic Display.
*Wednesday August 15 : Church Street Car Park and Custom House Quay will be closed all day to vehicles.
*Sunday August 19 : Along the Seafront there will be road closures in force early in the morning for the Triathlon. This is run by Gylly Surf Life Saving Club and the advisory signs will be visible with all times as from Sunday, August 12.
