Corporate entertaining on a tall ship

Fifteen local companies attended a Corporate Hospitality evening at the Falmouth Hotel on Wednesday last week, to hear about entertainment opportunities on board one of the tall ships visiting Falmouth from September 10 to 13.

Topsail Events Ltd, who have 20 years experience of working with Tall Ships will manage the corporate hospitality arrangements during the event and presented details of the opportunities to local businesses that had expressed an interest.

John Hick, chairman of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships organising committee in Falmouth said: "Here is a grand opportunity for local businesses to participate and enjoy themselves."

Mark Tower, managing director of Topsail said he and his colleagues had a lot of experience dealing with "the beautiful" tall ships and all they had to offer.

"We are delighted to have been invited by the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta organising committee in Falmouth to work with this fantastic event and are pleased to offer a range of excellent hospitality opportunities to local businesses."

He explained how companies could hold a variety of functins on board the vessels during their stay in Falmouth and also plans to hopefully operated day sails around the harbour.

A number of local companies were present at the Falmouth Hotel for the presentation.

The Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta is organised by Sail Training International as the centre-piece celebration of the 500th anniversary of Funchal, capital of the island of Madeira.

The official partners for the event in Falmouth are Carrick District Council as the lead accountable body, Falmouth Tall Ships Association, Cornwall County Council, South West Regional Development Agency, A&P Falmouth, Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, Cornwall Marine Network, Port Pendennis Marina, National Maritime Museum Cornwall, and Falmouth Town Council.
