The German operated cruise ship Artania berthed on Thursday on County Wharf after a Mediterranean cruise.
As the former Royal Princess from Princess Cruises and then as the Artemis under the P&O flag she is no stranger to the port.
The 45,000-ton ship, operated by German travel agency Phoenix Reisen, is the largest cruise ship to berth alongside the docks.
Now 30 years old, she was christened at Southampton in 1984 by Princess Diana.
Phoenix Reisen first entered the cruise business in 1988 by chartering the Soviet Union-owned cruise ship Maxim Gorkiy.
