The Mission to Seafarers in Falmouth has benefitted from a 30th birthday tandem skydive.
Simon Carter from Penryn was gifted a tandem skydive to celebrate his 30th birthday by his family, and decided to raise funds from the skydive for the Flying Angel Centre inside Falmouth Docks. All the family got involved and £700 was raised and presented to Penny Phillips, Chairman of Falmouth Mission.
Penny said: "I was aware that the family had chosen the mission for their fundraising effort and Simon wore a Flying Angel t-shirt for the skydive. He had a perfect day for the event with bright blue sky throughout, and the plane even passed over the Flying Angel Centre in Falmouth before the skydive took place at Perranporth. I was delighted and amazed at the amount raised, much of it in Penryn, and would like to thank Simon, Tina and Jade and all those who sponsored him."
Simon said: "We have watched the progress at The Flying Centre and know that the branch like to raise funds locally, so I was happy to do my bit for the charity which made the skydive even more enjoyable."
