Cruising from Falmouth is back again next year when the cruise ship Funchal embarks on four interesting cruises catering for all tastes.

Newell’s Travel has teamed up exclusively with Portuscale Cruises, owners of the Funchal. The St Petersburg and Baltic cruise will attract much interest, as apart from visiting the beautiful city of St Petersburg, the ship will transit the 61 miles long Kiel Canal twice which stretches from Brunsbuttel to Kiel-Holtenau.

Funchal will remain in St Petersburg for two days to allow passengers to explore the city. A favourite excursion is to the imperial estate of Peterhof located some miles west of the city.

Funchal departs from Portsmouth on May 5th calling at the Kiel Canal, Ronne, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Portsmouth arriving in Falmouth on May 17.

Ronne is the largest town on the Danish island of Bornholm, known as the Pearl of the Baltic Sea. Complimentary coaches will be provided from Falmouth to Portsmouth to join the vessel.

If a cruise in home waters is more appealing then The Celtic Connection may be the one to choose. From May 17 a ten-day cruise which starts and ends in Falmouth, will call at Swansea, Douglas on the Isle of Man, Stornoway, Scrabster, Ballycastle, Galway, and then back to Falmouth.

The 11 day Norwegian Fjords cruise from May 25 will start at Falmouth, calling at Swansea, Liverpool, Kirkwall, Alesund, Geiranger, Flaam, Gudvangen, Bergen and Hull.

Later in the summer Funchal heads south to chase the sun when she embarks on her Treasures of the Mediterranean 19 day cruise from July 31. This leaves Falmouth and calls at Oporto, Cadiz, Palma de Mallorca, Mahon, Ibiza, Gibraltar, Lisbon, Bilbao, Le Verdon sur Mer, La Rochelle and Portsmouth, before returning to Falmouth.
