Perfect weather conditions in the Carrick Roads allowed the heavy-lift vessel Happy River to offload two yachts after she had arrived from Genoa in Italy.
The motor yachts were the Constance and an unnamed Sunseeker 82. Both yachts were towed from the ship to the Port Pendennis marina complex.
The ship is part of BigLift Shipping, a member of the Spliethoff Group, one of the world’s leading heavy lift ship management companies specialising in worldwide ocean transportation of heavy lift and project cargoes, with a history dating back to 1973.
The 134-metre Happy River has two main cranes. Each has a lift of 350 tonnes at 20.5 metre radius, 400 tonnes at 18 metre radius or 250 tonnes at 28 metre radius, and when arranged to operate in tandem, give the vessel the capacity to handle loads up to 800 tonnes.
