As the world’s top cruise ships pass by our beautiful harbour on various European cruises Falmouth will only have two more ships this month. With ports throughout Europe still investing in new dredging schemes, building new terminals and generally advertising their regions, the port of Falmouth is in limbo.

Other ports have fantastic websites showing the world what is on offer. The Falmouth Harbour Commisioners website whilst informative, lacks vibrancy and has no dedicated cruise section or calendar of cruise visits that I could find.

Perhaps, FHC should take this point onboard as along the coast at Fowey their commissioners, colourful website, actively promotes the port, cruise industry and the area with some spectacular shots of cruise ships in the harbour.

The A&P Group site is no better with scant information on the cruise industry. To be fair to FHC and A&P the Destination Southwest page has more in depth cruise information on Falmouth.

Falmouth has one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. Does it not deserve to be more enthusiastically promoted by both harbour authorities?

Over the weekend the Astor and the small expedition ship Ocean Diamond will make daylong cruise calls at the docks.

In June the Prinsendam 7th, Sea Cloud II 11th, Star Legend 21st, and Balmoral 24th are scheduled to all berth at the docks.
