Wavewalker 1, an innovative eight-legged ‘walking’ jack-up platform (SEWP) is currently mobilising at the docks loading geo-technical drilling equipment and a 30 man personnel module.
Les Lugg, Director of Wavewalker BV & Fugro Seacore said: “Wavewalker 1 is being prepared for her forthcoming contract which is a site investigation for a wind farm south of Brittany. She is due to depart next week in tow of the tug MTS Vigilant.”
The rig has just finished working at the Arklow wind farm off southern Ireland changing gear boxes on wind turbines.
The revolutionary platform is owned by Wavewalker BV, a joint venture between Falmouth-based Fugro Seacore and Dutch dredging company Van Oord.
