The port is in tick over mode again as commercial shipping is peaking and troughing. Bunkering has gone relatively quiet with just five ships expected for bunkers in the next week. The River Fal lay-up berths are showing signs of picking up with several stems in the pipeline.

On Monday the reefer Summer Meadow left the Fal to go back into service. Tomorrow the Deep Investigator, a dynamically positioned drilling and WROV (Working Remotely Operated Vehicle) vessel goes up the river to lay-up.

The lack of activity in the North Sea has seen over 70 vessels go into lay-up.

A large numbers of oil industry related vessels continue to lay up in European ports. Over 250,000 people worldwide have lost their jobs due to the drop in the price of oil with offshore support companies suffering downturns in surveying, drilling and exploration linked to the oil industry.
