The accommodation and repair vessel Bluefort currently berthed at the docks is as her profile suggests a former passenger ferry. Now under her seventh name she was originally built in 1979 for service in the Baltic, although in later years she spent some time running between the Balearics and southern Spanish ports.

The 142 metre long Bluefort was converted into a premium hotel vessel and industrial work platform last year. Operated by Bridgeman Services, a company specialising in providing full-service floating accommodations for industrial workforces in coastal regions, major inland waterways and offshore sites where land-based camps cannot be constructed or are cost ineffective to operate and decommission.

The ship has 264 single-occupancy cabins with ensuite washrooms, 35 deluxe crew cabins, a well-appointed dining room, theatre and social areas.

“This vessel enables us to fulfill the needs of companies who need to quickly and expeditiously establish a command centre and accommodations facilities for early works projects,” said Brian Grange, President of Bridgemans Services.
