The Mission to Seafarers in Falmouth received a timely visit from staff members of Tesco Express on the day before Christmas.
Becci Price, Deputy Manager & Community Champion and Michelle Brown from Falmouth Tesco Express visited The Flying Angel Centre inside Falmouth Docks to deliver chocolates, mince pies, biscuits, tea bags and coffee for seafarers visiting The Centre over Christmas.
Falmouth Mission volunteers were delivering presents to the crews of all ships in Falmouth over Christmas, and expected some crews to visit The Flying Angel Centre during the festive period.
Penny Phillips, Chairman, said, we are delighted that Tesco Express Falmouth has also chosen Falmouth Mission as their community project going forward and we will have collecting boxes in store and close liaison through the year with Michelle and Becci launching a Facebook Page requesting support for our charity.
Tesco Express is the closest supermarket to The Docks and seafarers are able to exchange currency at Falmouth Mission to enable them to make purchases not just in Tesco but throughout the Town.
