Falmouth Race for Life sign-up opens

THE call has gone out for Falmouth women to enter this year’s Cancer Research UK Race for Life with registration opening this week.

Women and girls of all ages, shapes and sizes are being encouraged to sign up for the fundraising event which is to be held on Sunday, May 12, starting and finishing from Gyllyngvase Beach car park.

Last year 1,050 women and girls took part in the Falmouth Race for Life and raised more than £55,000. This year’s aim is for 1,100 to enter and help reach a fundraising target of £55,000.

Sam Beare, Cancer Research UK’s South West events manager, said: “Race for Life is non-competitive. It’s not about being fit or fast. Most women are able to walk 5k in an hour while chatting and having fun. Or they can choose to jog, run or even dance around the course if they prefer.

“Race for Life is an amazing way to celebrate life, but also remember those who have been lost to the disease.”

To enter Falmouth Race for Life go to www.raceforlife.org or call 0845 6006050.
