There can only really be one story to put at the top of this list. A councillor has resigned this week after saying that disabled children should be "put down" because they cost the council too much money. Not surprisingly a media bun fight erupted. Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust has made an "unreserved apology" after a surgeon was allowed to continue working despite complaints over 12 years. Click here to read more.
The shock and exertion of swimming after a loose dinghy in the cold waters of the Helford River wearing only a pair of shorts directly led to sailor Kristian Selman's death, an inquest heard this week. Click here to read the report.

Highlights only benefit people who don't read the stories in the first place.
The only thing you could do is offer more of a writers review of those stories with personal opinion on them and adding what others think too.

I would like to see a story telling me that I have won the Lotto. However, what stories we would like to see and what stories we get are probably two different things.
