Theatre fire at Princess Pavilion

Eleven firefighters on two appliances raced to the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth yesterday morning (friday) after a report of a fire in the main theatre.

It was shortly before 8.30am when the fire broke out under the floor boards in the theatre. It was put out by firefighters using a hose reel and fire extinguisher who then used small tools to cut away the burning material.

An investigation is now being carried out to establish the cause of the blaze.

It's not a nice theatre and could probably do with bring burnt down and rebuilt. It's always felt like a large, slightly manky village hall to me.
