Penryn man William Wilson has been slapped with a 12 month restraining order after he admitted assaulting Michael John Pill.

Wilson, aged 28 of Greenwood Crescent, has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £250.

Magistrates sitting at Truro also made Wilson the subject of a 12 month restraining order which bans him from going to Round Ring in Penryn.

The assault took place in Penryn on January 27 and Wilson had initially pleaded not guilty, but later admitted the offence. There was no order for compensation made due to history between the two men and the fact there may have been provocation.

Magistrates took no action on Wilson’s breach of a 12 month conditional discharge which had been imposed last September for an offence of being drunk and disorderly.
