The Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union, FXU will be hosting the Tremough 2014 Community Games at the Penryn Campus on Sunday, May 4, from noon until 4pm.

Event co-ordinators, Hayley Curtis and Roger Auster have put together an action-packed programme of sporting and cultural activities offering fun for all the family.

In addition to traditional sporting activities such as volleyball and American football, other quirkier sports’ clubs and societies will be in attendance, from shinty to ”quidditch” – Muggles are welcome, and broomsticks will be provided.

Dozens of local community groups and businesses will also be at the campus, including Retrobop, Street Football, and the Horse and Donkey Sanctuary.

There will also be plenty of art-based opportunities with an art zone featuring a graffiti wall, illustration and face painting, plus FXU’s High Tea Society, which will be on-hand with pots of tea and delicious cakes.

“The games provide a great opportunity for us all to try out lots of exciting sports and activities together,” says Roger, FXU’s sports executive office and incoming vice-president – participation. “It’s completely free to attend and we really hope to attract a record number of students, members of staff and local families to join us, get active and try something new.”
