A fun day was held on the Budock Water playing field to mark the 50th anniversary of its opening.
The event was a great succeess and described by association chairman Margaret Gallacher as “very well attended.”
Organised by the Budock Water Carnival Committee, the day featured games for children, races, temporary tattoos and a barbecue serving hot dogs and burgers, with tea and coffee also available.
The whole day was a combined effort and raised around £750. The funds are to be divided between the annual Christmas party for the children of the village and the Budock Playing Field committee.
The playing field is maintained entirely by volunteers, and the association fundraises throughout the year to keep the equipment in good order, buy new equipment and, most importantly, to pay for the necessary insurance.
