After taking an unexpected but well earned year off, Falmouth’s Pink Wig Events have vowed to be back in action next year with plans already being made for August’s popular Pink Wig night.

Emma Kent, who has taken over as the group’s new chairperson, said: “After the unexpected cancellation of this year’s Pink Wig night we wanted our supporters and followers to know that we haven’t forgotten them. We have reformed the committee, given people specific roles, and are continuing our fundraising for Cornwall Breast Care Team and Breast Cancer Campaign – a cause close to our hearts.”

In the meantime, supporters are being urged to get out their checked shirts, put on their cowboy boots, grab a partner and mosey down to the Pink Wig Barn Dance on Saturday, October 18, at Falmouth Football Club on Bickland Water Road.

Tickets cost just £5 and include hot food as well as a full night of entertainment for over 14s with The Other Band and their caller who will encourage wallflowers out onto the dance floor.

All funds raised will go to Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care in Cornwall. Numbers are limited, so anyone who wants tickets should email from the pinkwigevents.org.uk website, from all committee members or via their Facebook page.
