Cornwall’s pearl in the autumn food festival calendar, the Falmouth Oyster Festival, has announced its chefs line-up for 2014.

Once more the festival has attracted the doyens of the Cornish culinary circuit including TV Presenter James Strawbridge, 7th Rise founder and star of Hugh’s Three Hungry Boys Thom Hunt, plus a cookery demo from Michelin starred Chris Eden.

“This year we have strived hard to create a |bigger and better line-up over the four day |festival. Thanks to our media partners, Salt Media and the tireless efforts of the festival crew, we have a |stellar line-up of top chefs, oyster specialists, music and craft and food stalls ready to entertain our expected 30,000 festival goers,” says festival|organiser Mike Rangecroft.

The four-day celebration of the majestic mollusc takes place from October 9 to 12 and will kick off with a grand opening bash when the Oysterman returns to Events Square along with a performance by local school children and a demo by The Oyster Lady.

The Hot Chefs Challenge returns as normal on the Friday night with Arty Williams, The Cove Restaurant, battling out against Nick Hodges, Fire Kitchen. Saturday’s demo stage is opened by James Strawbridge followed by the infamous oyster shucking competition.
