Falmouth town centre is almost full, with just a handful of vacant units left to fill, including the former Remedies nightclub on The Moor.
When town manager Richard Gates addressed the town council, though, he gave some hope of movement on that site. “Watch this space,” he said.
“If we can get the Remedies’ building sorted that will be a big step forward for this end of town. It’s looking really encouraging.
“Across the town there is a very low vacancy rate and all those sites are being looked at at the moment.”
One of the few vacant sites is the former Mountain Warehouse store in Church Street, which is only empty because the company relocated to the larger former Bon Marche store.
Councillor Candy Atherton said: “There is a real buzz.
“Yes, we have problems but it really is wonderful that Falmouth has such a high profile and that is down to the work the two Richards and all the team are doing.
