Pupils and staff at Penryn Junior School dressed up for Glow for a Guide Dog Day on Friday when they also welcomed four guide dogs to assembly.

The school has strong links with Guide Dogs for the Blind and last year became proud sponsors of PJ the puppy who has now progressed on to his advanced training stage which will eventually lead to him being placed with a visually impaired person.

Pupils appreciate the importance of guide dogs as parent Kay Kitto is often at the school with her dog Jackie and was one of four visitors to the school on Friday. After assembly, the visitors called into each classroom so pupils could meet the dogs and their owners.

The school had decided to support national Glow for a Guide Dog Day by inviting children and staff to dress in high vis, fluorescent or colourful clothing in exchange for a £1 donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
