Motorists dropping children off at King Charles School in Falmouth are being warned to park appropriately or risk falling foul of the police.
PC Andy Hocking has told parents and carers: “Since the start of the new school term, I have noticed a marked deterioration in the standard of parking in the area of the school at the start and end of the school day. The vehicles are clearly linked to pupils being dropped off and picked up.
“Some of the parking I have witnessed is inconsiderate, ie vehicles parking on and obstructing pavements, garages and driveways; vehicles obstructing junctions, vehicles left with engines running etc.
“The above are not just inconvenient to other road users and pedestrians, they are in many instances unlawful and constitute a danger to others.
"I appreciate the difficulty in parking but cannot continue to condone the recklessness of some of the parking I have witnessed.
"I have particular concerns about the parking on Woodlane and the junctions of Albany Road and Woodlane but there are other areas around the school where parking is equally unacceptable. Please remedy this situation before formal action needs to be taken.”
