The developers behind one part of proposals for 300 new homes on land opposite Falmouth Football Club are inviting local residents and businesses to come and meet them tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, to find out more and comment on the scheme.

Outline planning permission was granted last December for up to 300 new homes, a local centre, public open space and a pedestrian and cycle network at Lower Kergilliack Farm. The development is a joint project between Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes with each company currently preparing applications for the detailed design of the new homes.

Taylor Wimpey is behind tomorrow's public consultation exercise which will be held between 3pm and 7.30pm at Falmouth Town Football Club. They want to speak to residents and businesses about the plans for their part of the site, which consists of four fields to the south of Hillhead Road and Kergilliack Road.

A spokesman for the company said: “We have liaised with Cornwall Coucnil as well as Falmouth Town Council and Bickland (Budock) Parish Council regarding the design of the overall development and have taken their feedback into account in preparing the detailed plans for this part of the site.

“We feel we are not at a stage where we would welcome feedback on the proposals from local residents before the scheme design is finalised and submitted to Cornwall Council for consideration.”

Members of Taylor Wimpey's project team will be on hand throughout tomorrow afternoon and early evening to discuss the scheme, listen to ideas and answer questions.
