Representatives from Cory Environmental enjoyed a reception with Falmouth’s mayor, John Body, and his wife Linda, when they were thanked for all their hard work keeping the town clean throughout the year.

The team was thanked particularly for the extra hours that they had put in during the Tall Ships Regatta when they worked from 6am until 11pm. Mr Body said: “I am delighted to be able to thank some of the Cory operatives who work tirelessly in our town. Their commitment and enthusiasm to ensuring our streets are kept clean is to be admired.”

Nigel Rutter, street supervisor for Cory added: “The Cory staff had a lovely evening with the mayor and his wife and we all felt it was nice to be appreciated.”

Also present were town manager, Richard Gates and Ruth Thomas, the town council’s finance officer, who were part of the Tall Ships organising committee.
