Falmouth Bay Residents’ Association (FBRA) will be holding its annual general meeting this Sunday, February 1, when the guest speaker will be Professor Mike Jenks, chair of Falmouth Civic Society.

Also at the meeting at the Falmouth Hotel, which starts at 2.30pm, FBRA will be announcing that it has had a very successful year, gaining approximately 40 new members to take total membership to almost 250 households.

Following the usual reports and other formalities the audience will be asked to raise any issues of concern or interest pertinent to the association’s membership area. Expected to be present to answer questions are Falmouth’s mayor, John Body; MP Sarah Newton; PC Andy Hocking and a number of town and county councillors.

Finally, Professor Jenks will give a brief overview of Falmouth Civic Society and will then focus on the new Falmouth Neighbourhood Plan initiative and the important role that residents and the association may play in the process.

Admission to the annual general meeting is free to all members, guests and prospective new members and complementary refreshments will be provided.

FBRA is seeking the best possible support and is hoping that numbers will exceed last year’s turnout of well over 100.
