The organisers of Penryn Arts Festival are searching for a home to host a performance piece in May.

The committee have invited St Just artists Alexandra Zierle and Paul Carter to bring their “site-responsive” art to the town, to be performed in a domestic setting.

In 2013 the pair created a “Living Room Opera” which they presented in art teacher Lizzie Waddling’s Falmouth home over three days, with audiences collected after meeting at a local pub each evening.

Lizzie said: “I couldn’t begin to imagine the transformation that could take place in my house. By day I could have my morning breakfast and go to work and by the evening the rooms became a place of mystery and intrigue. The team with Zierle and Carter were wonderful, and I utterly trusted in their ability to return my house to normal at the end of each performance.”

The pair are looking for a period house, preferably in the middle of Penryn. The amount of space they use will be up to the home's owners, and the house will only be open to the public at set times on Saturday May 23, but the team will need access during the prior week.

This year’s festival runs from May 22 to 25.
