The erratic driving of a car in Falmouth during the early hours led police to stop it.
The driver then failed a roadside alcohol screening test, later registering 67 mcg of alcohol, nearly twice the limit.
Callum Michael Stuart Davidson, a chef, aged 25, of Boslowick Road, Falmouth, pleaded guilty to drink driving in the town on March 1. He had no previous convictions.
John Boyle, his solicitor, said it had been Davidson’s birthday. He had had too much to drink and knew he should not have been driving.
Davidson was fined £240 |with £109 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for |18 months.
