Easter had a messy start for the children of Ponsanooth as they enjoyed a series of activities to teach them the story behind the celebrations.
The children enjoyed an afternoon which included dominos, painting, decorating biscuits and making up fruit plates, as well as producing butter from milk, all of which illustrated an aspect of the story of Jesus’ death, At the end of the afternoon, which was held at Ponsanooth Methodist Hall on Friday as part of the Messy Church initiative to introduce families to the church in a fun way, the children sat down for a meal with their parents.
Michelle Firminger, one of the organisers, said: “It’s great to see the number that have turned up to learn about Easter on a sunny day when they might have been outside.”
The next messy church event will be held at Pentecost, on May 22, and is open to all children and adults in the area.
