AS part of Museums at Night the Maritime Museum in Falmouth are offering visitors the chance to take part in a special Vikings after-hours experience.

In a special evening event for families on May 15, from 6.30-8.30pm, children of all ages will be able to create their own Viking armour, handle Viking artefacts and join in an epic battle, before setting off on a torch lit tour of the museum’s new Viking Voyagers exhibition.

A museum spokesperson said: "The Viking Voyagers exhibition takes you on a journey into the Viking world where you can discover the secret to the Vikings’ success. Explore the truth behind the popular myth of the bloodthirsty raiders, encounter Norse voyagers, experience Viking life over 1000 years ago with interactive exhibits and climb aboard a full scale replica Viking ship. Get up close to rare antiquities on loan from the British Museum, National Museum of Ireland, National Museum of Denmark and Manx National Heritage, many on display for the first time in the UK."

Tickets for the Museums at Night event cost £5.95 per person and places are limited so please book in advance on 01326 214546.
