King Charles Primary School is celebrating more success after achieving an 'outstanding' grade in its recent inspection as a church school.

After fighting its way out of special measures in just ten months, and being recognised as the most improved school nationally in an Ofsted inspection last year, King Charles was recently given an overall 'outstanding' grade by the church, which it managed by attaining the same high level in all three key areas examined.

Head teacher Claire Fortey said she was "delighted" with the report, which stated: “Christian values have a direct and outstanding impact on pupils’ overall progress… the school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners”

The inspection assessed the school’s overall performance, as well as its Christian distinctiveness, effectiveness of collective worship and the impact of leadership and management. In all of these King Charles was identified as 'skilled' and 'exemplary'.

Mrs Fortey said: “We are delighted that our school’s wide ranging and significant successes are now being shared with the community.

"King Charles is becoming known as a centre of excellence and as a result over the past year we have been hosting numerous teachers and leadership teams, from all over the country, who are keen to learn from our practice.

"I am just so delighted for everyone in our school community as King Charles is a very special and happy place to be, and that’s what shines through in this latest Inspection, and what matters most of all.”
