A group of Falmouth pre-schoolers enjoyed a busy and educational morning rockpooling at Castle Beach in the sunny spring weather on Friday.

The SEEDS - Supporting Environmental Education, Development and Sustainability - project, an informal group which takes children up to four years old outdoors to learn and explore nature, hit the beach armed with fishing rods and information sheets, picking out periwinkles and looking for limpets.

Sharon Cooper, who organised the trip, said: "We meet at different locations each week and try to have some kind of activity related to being outside, and we are rockpooling today.

"We have been doing a little seashore treasure hunt and a creature hunt to see what we can find.

"We have been very lucky , the last few times we have been here it was wet and windy."

The group is open to any families with pre-schoolers who want to join in, and information can be found on Facebook by searching for The SEEDS Project.
