There was a rare conjunction of sunshine and snowmen in Ponsanooth last Saturday as the village held its 28th annual fair.
In an almost record turnout, including plenty of visitors from outside the village, fair-goers had the chance to see the Sea King helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, to meet local firefighters and sit in their engine, pet donkeys from the Flicka Foundation, and even to hang out with Spongebob Squarepants and Olaf the snowman from Frozen.
Michelle Firminger, one of the organisers, said: "It was a fantastic sunny day, with a great turn out and lots of new stalls and events.
"It's a great community and family event."
Michelle said although the committee has yet to come to a final figure, after expenses are taken out, the income from the day was in excess of £5,000.
The money raised will go to the Ponsanooth Playing Field Association, to help cover costs such as maintenance and grass cutting, and to a fund to replace the village pre-school building.
The pre-school had been run from a temporary building on the playing field after a fire burnt down its former home at the Methodist Hall in 2008, but as the arrangement has worked out well for all involved the village is now looking to replace the old building.
