Cury School celebrated the completion of its new outdoors classroom recently as part of its summer fair.

The school invited former local MP Andrew George to come along and open the classroom, which sits in the school grounds where a willow garden and pond are also being developed to give the children a place to explore and understand nature.

Lisa Newberry, the head teacher, said: "It's like another classroom, but in the outdoors.

"We will be using it for meetings, and for after-school clubs and pre- school."

The school also raised more than £990 with its summer fair.

Lisa said:

"It was a lovely afternoon with a barbecue, music, and entertainment.

"It was an amazing community event. We had people with children here, or who had children here in the past, come and support the fair. It's a close knit community."
