The organisers of a charity rugby day in memory of Andy Hocking have doubled their funding for defibrillators for Falmouth with a donation from a town centre bank.

Darren Averiss and Mike Kevern were presented with a cheque for £1,650 by Laura Brandwood and Annabel Pinniger of Santander, matching the amount of money raised at the all day family event at Penryn Rugby Club in June.

As well as arranging for the bank to make the donation, the two women were also on hand during the charity day, helping out with various tasks to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Darren said: "We're grateful for Laura and Annabel's efforts on behalf of Santander at our charity memorial event."

With the money raised now totalling £3,300, Darren said there will be enough to buy two defibrillators in memory of Andy, with a large donation to the British Heart Foundation as well.
