Christmas was far from people's minds as they soaked up the sun during the Summer Market at Mylor's Tremayne Hall.

The weather was kind for the event in aid of the village's Christmas Lights, as villagers turned out to bag a bargain from one of the stalls and enjoy local produce generously donated by supporters.

The lights committee collected a total of £1400 over the day, which will go towards replacements and running costs for this year's display.

Commitee chairman Terry Chapman said: "It was a fantastic result. Great to see so many people.

"Particularly pleasing was to see folks sitting in the Courtyard enjoying their refreshment in the sunshine: it seemed a long way from Christmas, but fund raising has to go on all year round.

"We're very grateful for everyone's support. Showed us just how popular the village lights are so we'll do our best to make this year's display as good as ever."
