Falmouth's inshore lifeboat rescued the 11 metre yacht Sirius on Sunday after it had run aground east of Coastlines Wharf in the Penryn River.
The yacht, which had four people on board, had just left the Falmouth Marina in the Penryn River when the crew misjudged the channel and it grounded on the southern bank of the river.
The lifeboat was launched at around 11.30am, and the work boat from Falmouth Marina was also asked to help.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "A tow line was put on board the yacht and with the help of the work boat from the marina the yacht was towed clear of the bank and into deeper water. Once the yacht had checked its engine and rudder it was able to continue on its passage."
