More than 1,000 motorbikes will roar through central Cornwall and into Falmouth during the 27th Martin Jennings Memorial Motorcycle Run.

This year the event will take place on Sunday, September 13, assembling at Garras Wharf Car Park in Truro, at 9am for a 10am start.

This years run will be in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, and another record breaking entry is expected, with last years event attracting approximately 1600 bikes taking part in memory of Martin, of Beacon, Camborne, who died competing in the 1987 Manx GP.

The morning route is kept secret for safety reasons, but during the afternoon the convoy of bikes will pour down the A30, arriving at Chiverton Roundabout at 2pm, heading to Camborne west, before going through Camborne, and arriving at Beacon Square at 2.20pm for a brief stop where a minutes silence will be observed for Martin and for all bikers that have been killed on the roads of Cornwall.

The run will then head for Falmouth, via Troon, Helston, Rame, Longdowns, Penryn bypass, Ponsharden, Greenbank, High Street, Market Street, Bar Road, Castle Drive, the sea front, Pennance Road, and Western Terrace.

It will finish at the Recreation Ground at approximately 3.45pm, where the mayor of Falmouth John Body will welcome the riders, and there will be a free bike show.

In the event of wet weather, the run will be postponed for one week, or the next dry Sunday, with updates on local radio.
