Autumn is in the air, and members of a summer nature school celebrated the changing seasons with a food, drink and activities at the St Gluvias Community Hall in Penryn.

Nature Workshops held an autumn fair as the culmination of the its All Systems Grow course, which combined the skills of organic gardening with bushcraft, tool use and nature crafts during the summer months, funded with lottery money and supported by Incredible Edible Penryn and The Olive Branch Cafe.

During the fair, Incredible Edible served up homemade soup, bread, nut roast and elderflower champagne, and families enjoyed making nature-based arts and crafts, whilst students from the allotment society at Tremough campus learnt about winter cropping and seed saving in gardening workshops.

There was also apple bashing and juicing, which was particular popular with the young children, and Arts for Health ran a stall while The Olive Branch Cafe served tea coffee and cakes.

Alexandra Skinner, the course leader from Nature Workshops, said: "It was the perfect way to end the All Systems Grow project by celebrating Penryn's fantastic community, the joys of being outside, and by showcasing how community gardens can add beauty and a real buzz to our neighbourhoods.

"Many of the course participants helped out on the day and hope to continue gardening with Incredible Edible."
