Much loved Cornish comedian Kernow King is the latest to support Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s My Wild Life campaign which aims to increase awareness of the importance of getting outside and connecting with nature to all our lives.

The Trust has been protecting Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places for over half a century and knows that a beautiful, thriving natural environment is better for our wellbeing, our community and for our economy. The simple fact is; nature is good for us!

Kernow King, aka Edward Rowe is as passionate about Cornwall as they come and he and his family have been long term members of the Trust, supporting their important work protecting Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places.

Kernow King says,

“Cornwall is without doubt a very, very special place. I always had an inkling it was, but it wasn't until I went off to university when I was 17 that I realised just how lucky and fortunate I am to be able to call Kernow home. As soon as it clicked, I despised having to leave. It's magic, mysterious, moody and iconic. It has shaped me as a person in the way I think, the way I live and what inspires me. It has shaped my comedy.

We are practically an island, and being surrounded by water meant that being in the sea became my second home. I live for stormy winter days where friends and I are challenged by the cold, the wind and the ocean”.

Kernow King’s portrait for My Wild Life was taken at Pendennis Point on the Falmouth coastline, a place he loves to spend time with his friends and family by Cornish photographer Alastair Sopp. Look out for his portrait around Cornwall in the next few weeks.

Chris Betty, Communications Officer for Cornwall Wildlife Trust says,

“It is great to be able to include Kernow King in our My Wild Life campaign, he is clearly so passionate about Cornwall and its precious outdoor environment and we really appreciate his valuable support”.
