Arson is suspected after firefighters tackled a blaze in a small patch of gorse between Maenporth and Swanpool in Falmouth on Friday afternoon.
A crew from Falmouth with one pumping appliance was sent to the five square metre fire on the coastal path at around 1pm.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Crew used beaters and a powder extinguisher to extinguish the arson-suspected fire and police were informed."
