A fundraising appeal set up to help the family of Penryn fisherman Josh Winsper, who died last week in what is believed to have been a tragic accident in Wales, has raised over £1,500 in its first day.
Young father Josh, 24, leaves behind a four year-old son Rudy who he dreamed of taking on a trip to Butlins, and a fundraising page has been set up to help realise that dream and to help support Rudy.
The GoFundMe page was the idea of Josh's cousin, Jennifer Derbyshire, who said: "Josh worked hard fishing and he always provided for his son.
"I was there at Christmas, and he got him everything, but it wasn't just materialistic, he was there a lot for his son.
"Josh had a wish to take his son to Butlin's, and Rudy's auntie Paige is going to fulfil Josh's wishes and take him away for a week."
She said any extra money raised would be put into a savings account for when Rudy is older.
The page has already raised over £1,500 from 75 donations, with many of those donating also offering their condolences and leaving other messages.
Ruby Thom wrote: "R.I.P Josh taken to soon mate always be in our thoughts, love and sympathy to the family."
And Adele Wiles said: "Such a tragic loss my heart goes out to all his family & friends, a life taken to soon xx"
