A digger has been spotted in College Valley in Penryn on a site earmarked for hundreds of new homes.
The machinery was seen by Penryn resident Adele Wiles, among others, who posted pictures online showing it digging a long trench in one of the fields.
Penryn Town Council said the digger was carrying out an archaeological survey which was a necessary requirement for a planning application by home builder Walker Developments, which owns fields on both sides of College Hill.
The planning committee of Penryn Town Council has arranged and extraordinary general meeting on Tuesday, May 3, to hear a pre-planning presentation from Walker Developments on their proposals for the valley.
