At their last meeting members of the Penryn Memory cafe were delighted to have a visit from members of 1st Mylor Brownies.
The Brownies, as part of their community project, have been learning about dementia in the area and during their visit club members were entertained with a some Brownie songs.
The group also presented a cheque for £95.20 from holding several events in aid of Dementia Awareness which included a beetle drive.
Ellie Robinson-Carter, the Memory Cafe organiser, said: "The cafe is all about bridging intergenerational gaps and providing a space in the community where people can support people living with dementia: so the fact that the Brownies are supporting the elder population is fantastic.
"It’s brilliant to hear about the 'Forget-me-not' badge as this means Brownies both in the community and elsewhere are learning about dementia and how they can help their communities to become dementia friendly.
"The Brownies' support will go towards funding the cafe, such as arts and crafts resources, activities leaders and refreshments. We are also hoping that the group will come back in the summer to perform to us and maybe even lead an activity."
