Members of Falmouth Stroke Club can look forward to an array of trips and outings after a very successful cake sale recently raised hundreds of pounds.

The club, which meets at St Mary's Church Hall in Falmouth, raised £205 with the cake sale and coffee morning, which will be used to pay for excursions for the club members, some of whom have the club as their only opportunity to socialise.

Organiser Mary Bradley said: "It went very well indeed.

"A very happy time was had by all, everybody enjoyed it."

The club recently went on a trip to Trebah Garden, and has an upcoming excursion to the boating lake in Helston, and some of the money will also be used to pay for social events in Falmouth, such as an afternoon with cream teas.

Mary said: "Some members don't get out except for Stroke Club meetings, and we have the special disabled transport which is costly."

She added: "New members are always very welcome. Club members help each other to realise that living after a stroke can be very worthwhile."
