An upholsterer who was sought out in his home in Italy to work in England pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates’ Court to drink driving following his drinking of two pints of Guinness.
Stefano Bertuccelli, 56, of Kingston Way, Mabe, who works at premises near his home, told police he had been driving slowly because he was feeling unwell.
A member of the public had alerted the police to his erratic driving, and officers spoke to him at his home address, where he failed their breath test, later testing at 69 mcg, just under twice the limit in breath.
He was fined £400 with £125 costs and charges and banned from driving for 18 months.
