A woman who spent some of her time looking after her horses in Worcestershire and some in Cornwall was unable to partake fully in a probation order made against her because of it, probation officer Brendan Gough told Truro magistrates.

He asked them to revoke the year-long order made last August against Jane Wright-Roberts, 64, of Kersey Road, Flushing, who he said moved around in various parts of the country and had attended only some of her allotted appointments, opting for contact by telephone.

It was to do with her horses, he said. She had to go away to deal with them in other parts of the country which made regular attendances more problematic.

Wright-Roberts’ order was made after a dispute over her grandchildren with her daughter, son-in-law and his mother, the court heard, sending them a number of emails which resulted in her being convicted of harassment.

She told the magistrates her argument with her family was over their preventing her from seeing her two grandchildren.

“They have kicked me out of my own property” she said.

She said she had horses in Worcestershire, and was travelling back and from Cornwall looking for property here. She also ran a City and Guilds course for students.

“I just want an end to all this” she said.

The magistrates refused to revoke the order which ends in August this year.
