A man was taken to hospital with multiple injuries after falling 25 feet from a wall at the Greenbank Hotel in the early hours of the morning (20/5).
The inshore lifeboat and Falmouth's coastguard rescue team were called to reports of a male faller at around 2.45am, and found the man at the bottom of the wall under the hotel's function room, with an oncoming tide.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "There was no access from above we had no option but to deploy two rescue swimmers, in full water rescue gear to reach the casualty.
"Once with the casualty, we suspected some pelvic injuries and couldn't rule out a neck or back injury. We fully immobilised him, using a stiff neck collar, speed board and 'frac straps' then working with the ILB crew, we loaded him for extraction onto our floating stretcher and then onto the ILB.
"Once back ashore the casualty was handed over to attending paramedics for a full assessment and then transported to a waiting trauma team at RCH Treliske.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
South West Ambulance Service reported that a male casualty was taken from Stratton Terrace with injuries to his hip, head and arm.
