With just weeks to go, the Falmouth Classics Association is inviting spectators and participants of the event to take photographs and create videos to be in with the chance of having their work used as key advertising for next year’s spectacle.

The Falmouth Classics event runs from June 17 to 19 and the competition is an exciting chance for you to be recognized for your exceptional work. The winning image and video will feature on the Falmouth Classics website to promote next year’s event. In addition to this, the winning photograph will also feature on the front of the Falmouth Classics 2017 programme. Both winning materials will also be used across the Falmouth Classics social media accounts.

To enter the competition, you need to upload your photo or video to the Falmouth Classics 2016 Photography & Video Competition Flickr group by Monday, July 18. There will be one photo and one video selected as the winners on July 25 by the Falmouth Classics Association. Other images may also be used on its website and social media in the future and will be credited accordingly. For full instructions on how to enter the competition, visit falmouthclassics.org.uk.

John Davison, the chairman of the Falmouth Classics Association, said: “We are fortunate to have so many creative and talented people within Falmouth. I am very much looking forward to seeing the result of their work taken throughout the Falmouth Classics event.”

The three-day volunteer-led event will be jammed pack with racing, parades, and of course music since Falmouth Classics is running simultaneously with the annual Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, celebrating Cornwall’s maritime heritage both ashore and afloat.
